West Tennessee Legal Services seeks staff attorney with a strong commitment to delivery of high quality civil legal assistance to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking in rural west Tennessee. Experience directly representing domestic violence victims, including litigation experience or applicable experience preferred. The successful candidate will have experience working with or sensitivity to specialized client populations and/or experience working with or sensitivity to individuals from ethnic or language distinct communities.
A national nonprofit organization, MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, has awarded Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands a $13,000 partnership grant to support MAZON’s anti-hunger efforts.
Legal Aid Society will use the grant money to continue its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits advocacy.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. July 22, 2014 – Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands announced today its new executive committee officers, who began serving their two-year term this month. John T. Blankenship of Blankenship & Blankenship law firm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee now leads the Board of Directors as president.
