NALS After Hours Silent Auctions to Benefit LAS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. June 24, 2014 –The Nashville chapter of NALS…the association for legal professionals will host its second annual NALS After Hours Silent Auction event at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell and Berkowitz, PC, located at 211 Commerce Street, Suite 800 in Nashville. The event is free and open to the public.

As a way for NALS to give back to the community, one hundred percent of the proceeds generated at the auction will be donated to Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands.

In its first year, the silent auction raised $3,350 for Legal Aid Society. This year, NALS officials are hoping to raise even more funds by auctioning off items such as autographed memorabilia from the Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans, hotel accommodations, wine, gift certificates to local restaurants and more.

“NALS is excited to once again host a silent auction and to give 100 percent of the proceeds to Legal Aid Society,” said Brenda Wolfgang, president of NALS. “As president this year, I wanted to continue giving back to the community, and as a legal professional organization, we chose to give back to Legal Aid Society.  NALS members know the hardship one can experience when unexpected things happen, so we wanted to continue giving Legal Aid the assistance they need to continue serving people in the Middle Tennessee area.”

"Every dollar from the NALS fundraiser helps us work to achieve fairness for all in the civil justice system,” said Gary Housepian, Legal Aid Society’s executive director. “We are very grateful to NALS and the community for supporting our mission throughout our 48-county service area. We could not do what we do without the help from our community.”

NALS Nashville is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonunion organization of legal secretaries, legal assistants, paralegals, law office administrators, court clerks, and other legal professionals affiliated with NALS, Inc., the national association, and TALS-Legal Professionals of Tennessee, the Tennessee chapter.
