John T. Blankenship of Blankenship & Blankenship law firm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee now leads the Board of Directors as president.

June 24, 2014 –The Nashville chapter of NALS…the association for legal professionals will host its second annual NALS After Hours Silent Auction event at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell and Berkowitz, PC, located at 211 Commerce Street, Suite 800 in Nashville. The event is free and open to the public. As a way for NALS to give back to the community, one hundred percent of the proceeds generated at the auction will be donated to Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands.

March 24, 2014 – At the Campaign for Equal Justice kickoff luncheon March 5, Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands announced the creation of the Volunteer Lawyers Program, a regional program to connect volunteer lawyers with clients in all 48 counties served by Legal Aid Society.
A national nonprofit organization, MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, has awarded Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands a $13,000 partnership grant to support MAZON’s anti-hunger efforts. Legal Aid Society will use the grant money to continue its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits advocacy.
