Memphis Area Legal Services (MALS) and the Memphis Bar Association's Acess to Justice Committee presented Pamela Kelly of Law Office of Pamela Kelly with the Celebrate Pro Bono Award. CHATTANOOGA – A one year grant that was expected to provide $250,000 in local benefit has instead resulted in more than six times that amount in half the time! Last fall, the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga awarded Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) $20,000 to help low-income women and their children escape abusive situations, rebuild their lives, and achieve financial stability and security.
On Tuesday, April 15th, American Bar Association (ABA) President Jim Silkenat will visit Memphis Area Legal Services (MALS) to speak to the staff members to express the ABA’s appreciation for their service in affording access to justice to their clients.
