The Tennessee Supreme Court wants to make sure everyone, regardless of their financial abilities, has access to justice. In this ongoing effort, the court has produced an access to justice video, which will be used to educate the legal community and business leaders about the civil legal needs crisis in Tennessee. Please see the press release regarding the TN Supreme Court uploading its first videos in an Access to Justice Initiative to prepare pro bono lawyers to take on cases outside of normal scope of practice. Great job to everyone involved!

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has appointed Tennessee Court of Appeals Judge Holly Kirby to the Tennessee Supreme Court. Judge Kirby will be replacing Justice Janet Holder who will be retiring at when her current term ends. See the state of Tennessee's press release on Kirby's appointment here.
TBA’s Young Lawyers Division recognizes local lawyer with two awards
MURFREESBORO, TN, July 17, 2014 – The Tennessee Bar Association’s (TBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) recently awarded Legal Aid Society attorney Aimee Luna with the 2014 President’s Award and honored her as the first place winner of its “Paying for Press” challenge at the group’s annual meeting in June. Luna is an attorney with the Murfreesboro office of Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands.
