The Tennessee Supreme Court wants to make sure everyone, regardless of their financial abilities, has access to justice. In this ongoing effort, the court has produced an access to justice video, which will be used to educate the legal community and business leaders about the civil legal needs crisis in Tennessee. This year, the Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services presented the B. Riney Green Award to Russ Overby with Legal Aid Society and Beth Stricklin bates with West Tennessee Legal Services.
The New Advocate of the Year Award was presented to Shayla Purifoy with Memphis Area Legal Services.
Immediate Secretary Position Available In Columbia
The Legal Aid Society has an immediate opening for a full-time secretary in its Columbia, TN office. The secretary will perform routine clerical and secretarial work in transcribing from dictation and typing legal documents using Microsoft Word, answering telephones, making telephone calls, courteously greeting the public, data processing, and record keeping.
