DLAC Seeks Disability Rights and Intake Advocate, apply by Nov 8th

Disability Law & Advocacy Center (DLAC) of Tennessee is accepting applications for the position of Disability Rights and Intake Advocate. This individual will be responsible for obtaining information from callers seeking advocacy or legal representation because of disability related discrimination or rights violations. In addition, this individual will be responsible for providing appropriate information and referral resources to callers whose issues DLAC is not able to accept as cases.  This individual will also be responsible for providing legally based technical assistance, consultation and/or advocacy to assist individuals with disabilities in accessing assistive technology as well as addressing related systemic issues. Knowledge of disability resources and experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills. Position located in Nashville, TN.  Disability Law & Advocacy Center of Tennessee is an equal opportunity employer. The position requires a Master’s Degree in Special Education, Social Work, Sociology or Counseling, or related degree preferred.  Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years or more experience as an advocate or in a similar position will be considered in lieu of an advanced degree. Excellent computer skills.
