2016 EJU Featured Speakers

For this year's conference, TALS welcomes national and state leaders to address different areas of growing civil legal aid. This year's speakers, in order of date and time of presentation, include:

John Pollock

John Pollock is the Coordinator of the National Coalition for a Civil Right to Counsel and is an attorney at the Public Justice Center. John will speak about "Civil Gideon" at the Opening Plenary, starting at 9am on Wednesday, August 31st.

Justice Jeffrey S. Bivins

Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Jeff Bivins will greet attendees and share the Court's perspective on Access to Justice at Wednesday's Welcome Luncheon on August 31st. TALS will present the 2016 Janice M. Holder Award at this luncheon.

Martha Bergmark

Martha Bergmark is the founding Executive Director of Voices for Civil Justice. She'll speak at Wednesday's Access to Justice Dinner about sharing the equal justice message. The B. Riney Green and New Advocate of the Year Awards will be presented at this event.

Jason Long

Tennessee Bar Association President Jason Long will speak at Thursday's Leadership Luncheon, sponsored by Lincoln Memorial University's Duncan School of Law, on September 1st.
