MARYVILLE (May 12, 2017) – Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) is proud to announce that staff attorney Zachary W. Arnold will participate in the prestigious National Institute for Trial Advocacy's Legal Services Corporation Grantee Lawyers (LSCO) Program. He is among thirty-two legal services attorneys from across the country who will attend this training.

2017 Legislative Update
West Tennessee Legal Services, Inc. has immediate openings for two (2) attorneys in our Victim Assistance and Advocacy Project. The attorneys will represent victims of elder abuse and financial exploitation in civil protection order cases, and provide legal advocacy on behalf of victims in various forums, including assertion of victim rights, and pursuit of benefits and resources. Litigation experience on behalf of victims, and prior work with specialized client populations and/or ethnic or language distinct communities preferred. &n
JOHNSON CITY (June 2, 2017) – Deborah Yeomans-Barton, Managing Attorney for Legal Aid of East Tennessee’s Johnson City office, has been elected to chair the Tennessee Domestic Violence State Coordinating Council (DVSCC). Her one-year term begins on July 1, 2017.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 13, 2017 — Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, Tennessee’s largest non-profit law firm, has announced the addition of Alysse Gregory, Dorie Williams and Heather Duggan, and the promotion of Joshua Thomas and Brittney Jerkins.
West Tennessee Legal Services has launched a senior-friendly, senior specific website to expand access by senior citizens to important legal information. The website, which can be accessed by going to TnSeniorlaw.org or by going to West Tennessee Legal Services’ website, wtls.org, and clicking on the “Senior Services” button, includes almost 60 printable factsheets on issues important to seniors ranging from conservatorships, long term care and Medicaid, to Senior Scams plus much more.
