WTLS & MALS receive SSVF Grants

July 2013 - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has announced its 2013 Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program Award Winners. Through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program the Department of Veterans Affairs awards grants to agencies who can assist low-income Veteran families living in or moving into permanent housing. Tennessee had seven (7) different organizations awarded funding to serve eligible Veteran families. Two TALS' alliance members were among the grantees.

West Tennessee Legal Services (WTLS) will serve approximately eighty-four participant households in twenty-three counties in rural Tennessee while Memphis Area Legal Services, Inc. (MALS) will serve approximately one hundred participant houselods in their four service counties of Shelby, Fayette, Lauderdale, and Tipton.

Congratulations to both organizations. To find about more about the 2013 Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program Awards and see other Tennessee organizations who received awards, visit the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs's webpage here
