WTLS Seeks Staff Attorney
West Tennessee Legal Services seeks staff attorney with a strong commitment to delivery of high quality civil legal assistance to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking in rural west Tennessee. Experience directly representing domestic violence victims, including litigation experience or applicable experience preferred. The successful candidate will have experience working with or sensitivity to specialized client populations and/or experience working with or sensitivity to individuals from ethnic or language distinct communities.
WTLS Welcomes New Staff
West Tennessee Legal Serviceshas announced the addition of two new staff members, Ijeoma Ike and Murti Patel. Ijeoma is an attorney working with the Housing programs. Murti is an attorney working with Emergency Shelter assistance. Murti sat for the Tennessee Bar exam in early August. WTLS & MALS receive SSVF Grants
July 2013 - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has announced its 2013 Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program Award Winners. Through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program the Department of Veterans Affairs awards grants to agencies who can assist low-income Veteran families living in or moving into permanent housing. Tennessee had seven (7) different organizations awarded funding to serve eligible Veteran families. Two TALS' alliance members were among the grantees.

  Available Position: Staff Attorney Background: West Tennessee Legal Services, Inc. is seeking a Staff Attorney to work in Jackson, TN to provide free legal assistance pursuant to a private enforcement initiative/multi-year funding component grant from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. The grant’s purpose is to provide fair housing enforcement across Tennessee.
