LAS Attorney Honored by TBA
TBA’s Young Lawyers Division recognizes local lawyer with two awards MURFREESBORO, TN, July 17, 2014 – The Tennessee Bar Association’s (TBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) recently awarded Legal Aid Society attorney Aimee Luna with the 2014 President’s Award and honored her as the first place winner of its “Paying for Press” challenge at the group’s annual meeting in June. Luna is an attorney with the Murfreesboro office of Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands.
LAS's Columbia Office seeks Secretary
Immediate Secretary Position Available In Columbia The Legal Aid Society has an immediate opening for a full-time secretary in its Columbia, TN office. The secretary will perform routine clerical and secretarial work in transcribing from dictation and typing legal documents using Microsoft Word, answering telephones, making telephone calls, courteously greeting the public, data processing, and record keeping.

LASMTC's free "People's Law School" starts in June
The staff from the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands' Nashville staff, with help from special guests, have joined with the Nashville Community Eductionat Commission to host the "People's Law School". The People's Law School will focus on a variety of relevant topics like planning for advance care, renter's rights, social security options and much more.
