Online TN Justice Celebrates 5 Years of Service

Nashville, TN -- On Thursday, April 14, 2016 the virtual legal advice clinic, www.onlinetnjustice.org, celebrates five years of helping low-income Tennesseans receive free civil legal advice. The first question was posted to Online TN Justice site on April 14, 2011. Since then 10,000 low-income Tennesseans have posted more than 11,000 questions on topics like divorce, eviction, etc. Most site users are typically not eligible for free legal services because of their type of legal issue. Other users make slightly too much income to qualify for free help. Online TN Justice serves users who make 250% or less of the federal poverty guidelines and has less than $5,000 in assets. Since its launch, more than 500 Tennessee attorneys are registered to answer questions posted to the site. Volunteer attorneys can provide a single response or have a dialogue with the user about their civil legal issue.
