Nominations Due Friday for Three Access to Justice Awards

TALS is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Access to Justice Awards. On Wednesday, August 31, 2016, join Tennessee's equal justice community for the presentation of three prestigious awards at TALS' annual Equal Justice University conference. TALS will present the following awards:

The Janice M. Holder Award recognizes a professional in private practice, corporate counsel, a public servant or other social service advocate who has advanced the quality of justice statewide, by ensuring that the legal system is open and available to all. The B. Riney Green Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in collaborative efforts to strengthen access to justice in Tennessee. This award is a way to acknowledge inter-program cooperation and encourage collaboration to strengthen Tennessee's access to justice efforts statewide. Click here to nominate someone for the Green Award.

The New Advocate of the Year recognizes creative and effective advocacy by attorneys or paralegals who have been employed with a provider of civil legal services to vulnerable Tennesseans for five years or less. Click here to nominate someone for the New Advocate Award.

All three awards will be presented on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, TN in conjunction with the 2016 Equal Justice University conference. The Holder Award will be presented at the conference Welcome Lunch and the Green & New Advocate Awards will be presented at the Access to Justice Dinner on Wednesday evening.
