Solo in the Park Benefits LAET

KNOXVILLE – SOLO Autocross competition comes to Knoxville’s Chilhowee Park, Saturday & Sunday (August 16 & 17).  The 4th Annual Solo in the Park is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), and features sports car enthusiasts driving a timed precision course.  The track and competition are managed by East Tennessee Region SCCA.

More than 100 competitors are expected during the 2-day event.  Driver check-in begins Saturday at 8:30am, with “first car off” at 10:30am.  Driver registration is $35 for one or both days.  Spectator admission is $5 per person or $10 per family. And for a $10 donation, spectators may ride the course at competition speed with a participating ETR driver (minimum age 14).

Solo in the Park is a charity event.  All proceeds benefit Knoxville Family Justice Center and Legal Aid of East Tennessee.  Presenting sponsor is Pilot/Flying J Travel Centers.  Media sponsors are WBIR-TV Channel 10, 93.1 WNOX, and The Knoxville News Sentinel.
