TALS Awards Five Equal Justice University Scholarships

Thanks to the generous donations of the Tennessee Bar Association (TBA) and private attorney Paul Ney, the Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services (TALS) was able to award five scholarships to the Equal Justice University conference which will be held October 9-11, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee.

A selection committee selected the five scholarship recipients out of ten total applicants. "All of the applicants were really worthy. It was so tough to only select five five candidates," said one selection committee member regarding this year's group of applicants. Ten applicants is   is the most applications the scholarship program has received since its creation in 2010. Law students and not for profit social service providers were encouraged to apply.

TALS is still accepting scholarship donations in order to help send other worthy scholarship applicants to Equal Justice University, a statewide conference of legal service providers and access to justice practicioners that emphsizes substantive training and networking with other professionals in the equal justice field.

To send a law student or advocate to Equal Justice University, contact TALS Executive Director Ann Pruitt about providing a scholarship.
