WTLS Seeks Two Attorneys

West Tennessee Legal Services, Inc. has two immediate staff attorney openings.  Both positions are grant funded. 

#1  West Tennessee Legal Services seeks a staff attorney in our Victim Assistance and Advocacy Project.  The attorney will provide victims of domestic, sexual and intimate partner violence with holistic civil legal assistance, including civil protection order cases and family law matters, and legal advocacy on behalf of victims in various forums, including assertion of victim rights, and pursuit of benefits and resources.   Litigation experience and prior work with specialized client populations and/or ethnic or language distinct communities preferred.  Two years’ experience preferred.  Excellent verbal, written, analytical, problem solving and computer skills are required.  The position is based in Jackson but requires travel within rural service area.  The successful candidate must be licensed to practice law in Tennessee.

 

#2  West Tennessee Legal Services seeks a staff attorney in our Legal Assistance for Victims project.  The attorney will provide holistic legal assistance and legal advocacy in various forums, including assertion of victims’ rights and pursuit of benefits and resources to elder abuse and sexual assault victims in our 17 county service area.  Litigation experience and prior work with specialized client populations and/or ethnic or language distinct communities preferred.  Two years’ experience preferred.  Excellent verbal, written, analytical, problem solving and computer skills are required.  The position is based in one of our rural offices and requires travel within WTLS’ service area.  The successful candidate must be licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
