Special Education and Section 504 Training

Morning Topics (for families & attorneys) includes:
Basic Special Education Rights, Section 504, Advocacy Strategies/Negotiation Skills in IEP Meetings, Putting Needs in Writing, and Updates on Restraint/Isolation.

Afternoon Topics (primarily for attorneys) includes:
Filing Complaints and Requests for Mediation, Administrative Complaints, Office for Civil Rights Complaints, FERPA Complaints, Due Process Complaints, Requests for Mediation, and Case Law Updates.

REGISTRATION DETAILS
Advanced registration is REQUIRED to reserve a space — Submit this form by May 27.

COST
Registration fee is WAIVED for legal aid advocates, family members, or those who agree to accept referral of at least two cases from their local legal services / pro bono program.  We have only 24 slots for this training—registration will be closed when the slots are full.

FACILITY & MEAL DETAILS
Free parking and a lunch buffet will be provided for all participants (separate from the other Mega Conference attendees). Coffee will not be provided at this event, although there is a coffee shop in the hotel.
