9:00-10:00 “Where Juvenile Justice and Special Education Intersect”, presented by Elizabeth Reeve. This session will include information on the following: Identification of behaviors displayed in a special education setting and their implications for juvenile justice involvement; inclusion of special education and disability related factors in the development of defense strategy.

10:15-12:15 “Restorative Justice” presented by Linda Warren-Seeley. This session will cover restorative justice concepts with a particular emphasis on why restorative justice is so important in special education and juvenile justice cases.

12:15-1:00 Lunch

1:00-3:00 “Special Education Updates“ presented by Craig Barnes and Sherry Wilds. This session will provide attendees with an update on cases, statutes, and proposed legislation affecting special education as well as an opportunity to discuss various strategies in pushing schools to comply with federal and state law.
